Nutrition & Wellness Coaching

'You simply cannot out-train a bad diet'

Picture
As a certified Nutrition Wellness Specialist, I will help you understand the correlation between nutrition and exercise as components of your overall wellness. But before we can do that, it is beneficial to have an understanding of what I mean by the broad term: “wellness”.

Truthfully, it will mean different things to different people, but I like to think of wellness as quite simply how you feel in the here and now...your state of mind, state of being. Wellness is having the ability and the confidence to take control of your life which is not a static event or a linear journey - everything is adaptable, changeable, malleable and in a constant state of evolution. Wellness is a moving target and the result of a progression of positive changes/choices we make to our lifestyle. Positive behaviours will most often lead to positive consequences. The trick is to establish these healthy behaviours as the basis for your everyday life. Once you get ahead of the curve, you will spend far less time reacting to life’s health concerns, and spend more time LIVING your life because of the proactive lifestyle you have CHOSEN. Look younger, feel younger, live longer, live healthier...sounds like a positive consequence indeed!

Now, nutrition planning is just that...a PLAN. And as such, the plan will take into account personal aspects such as your age, health, body-type, nutrition, etc. We want to focus on nutrition as the high octane fuel for your engine, and a high-end supercar without the proper fuelling won’t even get off the start line let alone finish the race. It’s not always about eating less, but about eating correctly and in the right quantity. You simply cannot out train a bad diet, nor can you massively cut the calories as the sole effort in gaining overall heath. It is just simply not the way it works.

For many, the nutrition side of the health equation is more difficult to establish within their lifestyle than the physical exercise piece, so it’s important to have someone help coach an understanding of the symbiont nature between the components of health.

As your Nutrition & Wellness Coach, I can help you manage a lifestyle adaptation from day-one through to sustainability. Change for a lifetime - something a fad diet simply cannot do!
